Cloudy water

Post by Breezeblock » Fri, 17th Mar 2017, 7:29pm

Hi folks,

Found that I've got white cloudy water coming from one of my water fountains. It's mains fed, strangely enough cold water from the same pipe is coming out clear further along where it terminates at a wash hand basin.

Any idea what's wrong and how to fix it?

Don't think it has a filter Mark, it's one of those really old fashioned things with a self closing valve just bunged straight on the end of the copper pipework

It isn't airisstion? Sorry can't spell it lol can you close a valve and then take the tap of and then reopen the valve and let it out in a bucket/clear jar that way you know if it's at the fitting or not?

Sounds like aeration. Put some in a glass and leave it for a minute and see if it clears.

The aeration unit inside might be failing...

Does sound like air in the system up to that point and it should clear. :hatoff:

Checked again this morning, water still a little cloudy but poured some into a bottle and it quite quickly cleared. I assume no other action to be taken?
