Job Title: Site Manager

Salary Scale: Grade E Pt 18 – 21 (£17,891 – £19,9391)

Hours of work: 37 hours per week - split shift, Monday to Friday
7am to 12pm then 3:15pm to 5:45pm – approximate times which can be discussed at interview. Occasional weekend work would be paid as overtime.

Ideally, the successful applicant will take up residence in the 3-bedroom detached house in the school grounds, provided by Gateshead Council.

The Headteacher and Governors of Carr Hill Community Primary School in Gateshead are seeking to appoint a Site Manager to join our dedicated team from 4th September 2017.

We are looking for a self-motivated, well organised, conscientious and reliable person who will provide a key role in maintaining our school site, to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community. He or she will have good communication skills, liaising with the School Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team.

The successful applicant will be required to drive our school minibus on occasions, so will need to hold a Category D1 Licence OR must have held a Category B Licence for at least 2 years, be over 21 years of age and be willing to undertake the relevant driving test to upgrade their licence to include D1.

He or she will also be responsible for managing the health & safety requirements of the school, including the maintenance of statutory and non-statutory records. Ideally you will be practical with a range of DIY skills that would support the maintenance and repairs of the school. There is a small amount of cleaning duties to be carried out weekly, as well as the upkeep/maintenance of the school external grounds.
